PARKING SOLUTIONS

Technology built around the way parking operates.

NextGen provides site-led parking management: an appropriate mix of patrols, ANPR, bay monitoring, authorised parking, validation, payment and site configuration, selected around each environment.

OUR CAPABILITIES

No two parking environments are the same.

The physical layout, how a site is used, who needs to park, operational objectives, compliance challenges, payment and permissions all shape the right operating model. NextGen starts with the site, its users and the outcome, then considers the appropriate combination of people, infrastructure and technology. Not every site needs every approach. We support sites across the UK, with installation support available through a network.

CAPABILITY 01

Intelligent Parking & Site Configuration

NextGen considers the parking environment as a whole to help determine how layout, vehicle movement, user groups, permissions, payment, monitoring and management should work together for the property.

  • physical layout and vehicle movement
  • who needs to park
  • permissions and payment
  • monitoring and patrol requirements
  • the outcome required for the site

CAPABILITY 02

ANPR & Computer Vision

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) monitors vehicles entering and leaving a parking environment through defined entry and exit points. It can support parking management where the site's geometry and operating requirements make this appropriate. ANPR is one option within a site-led approach; it is not the right model for every car park.

  • monitoring defined entry and exit points
  • suitability shaped by site geometry
  • parking operation and requirements considered together
  • can form part of a wider site-led model

CAPABILITY 03

Parking Technology

Digital permits. NextGen provides digital systems to manage and distribute parking permissions for residents, staff and other authorised users.

Visitor validation. Visitors and other authorised parkers can register their vehicle by tablet, text or WhatsApp. This can support leisure facilities, residential visitor parking and workplaces, helping make legitimate parking straightforward.

Payment. Physical kiosk options include card, cash or both, with Pay & Display, Pay on Foot or Pay on Exit models. Digital payment can include mobile-app payment and pre-booking. Pre-booking may suit users who benefit from arranging parking in advance. The right combination depends on the site, its users and how parking operates.

  • digital permits for authorised users
  • tablet, text or WhatsApp vehicle validation
  • physical kiosks: card, cash or both
  • Pay & Display, Pay on Foot or Pay on Exit
  • mobile-app payment and pre-booking

CAPABILITY 04

Parking Management & Enforcement

Manual patrols. Patrol-based management may suit sites where an on-site presence is useful, behaviour needs observing within the site, particular areas or restrictions need attention, or entry/exit monitoring alone does not fit the layout. Officers use mobile technology to support evidence capture. Patrols can operate independently or alongside other methods. See how Smart Route Mapping supports patrol planning.

Bay monitoring. Monitoring specific spaces or areas can help manage EV charging, loading, visitor, designated and restricted bays. It can also suit sites without suitable controlled entry and exit geometry for conventional ANPR. For EV bays, the objective is appropriate use in line with relevant parking and charging requirements.

Hybrid management. One property may contain different layouts, access arrangements, user groups, designated areas and parking requirements. ANPR, bay monitoring and patrols can be combined where that mix is appropriate. Hybrid is one option, not automatically the best solution; the operating model should fit the site.

  • manual patrols with mobile evidence capture
  • ANPR where defined entry and exit points suit
  • bay monitoring for specific spaces and areas
  • standalone or combined operating approaches
  • compliance as the objective

CAPABILITY 05

EV Parking

Where a site has EV charging, parking management also needs to address how charging bays are used. Bay monitoring can support the appropriate use of spaces intended for charging, in line with relevant parking and charging requirements.

  • EV charging bays
  • appropriate use of designated spaces
  • site parking and charging requirements
  • monitoring selected for the site

CAPABILITY 06

Data & Intelligence

Parking activity and operational information can help operators understand what is happening and inform decisions. The information available depends on the systems selected for each site; no specific data feed, dashboard or report is implied.

  • parking activity
  • operational context
  • questions about compliance
  • information to support decisions

The value is in the connection.

Illustrative only: the relationships between site infrastructure, monitoring, systems and information depend on the requirements of each property. Not every layer is used at every site.

DESIGNED AROUND THE OPERATOR

Technology should answer questions, not create more of them.

Technology supports operational decisions: what is happening, where attention may be required and where a person may need to act. The objective is compliance, with the operating approach shaped by the site.

01

SEE

What is happening?

02

UNDERSTAND

Why is it happening?

03

DECIDE

What should happen next?

04

OPTIMISE

How can the environment work better?

Built on practical technology principles.

Connected

Technology should work together rather than exist in isolation.

Intelligent

Data should become useful information, not simply accumulate.

Adaptable

Parking environments vary, so technology needs to accommodate different sites and operating models.

Measurable

Technology should create information that can be understood and acted upon.
